Long bean is a type of green vegetable which varies from slender green to dark green
colour. They have a very pronounced flavour and have a distinctly beany taste. They could be used in various forms such as blanched, boiled or sautéed and are used as an ingredient in various dishes such as curries, stir-fries, variety of rice, noodles etc.
Beans will keep fresh at room temperature for short period and for longer storage it should be refrigerated.
It has good amounts of Vitamin A as well as fair amounts of Vitamin C. Being a green
vegetable; it is rich in phytochemicals and antioxidants.
Long beans are a low-calorie vegetable and hence can be consumed by those on weight
loss. They help in fighting cancer and delays ageing. They have anti-inflammatory effects
and may help to relieve inflammations such as arthritis.
